English in Year 6 combines structure and creativity. Students refine paragraph writing and move toward multi-paragraph compositions. Copywork includes Latin phrases and passages with nature themes to develop cursive handwriting and vocabulary. Weekly dictation builds spelling and comprehension skills, while regular poetry readings encourage language appreciation and creativity. This content-rich approach nurtures clear thinking and effective communication.

A carefully selected collection of novels and a modern history reader accompany a guided introduction to George Orwell’s Animal Farm—a short and approachable novella. Though it features talking animals on a farm, this compelling and thought-provoking story serves as an allegory for many of the events and ideologies students will explore in modern history. With our supportive lesson guide, your child will be gently led to understand the key themes and historical parallels, making this classic work both meaningful and manageable for Year 6 learners.

History focuses on Australia’s Federation and Constitution within the broader context of modern world history. Students write engaging biographies of Australian prime ministers, strengthening research and composition skills while exploring the nation’s political heritage.

In Science, curiosity is sparked through hands-on learning. Topics include the Solar System, habitats and animal adaptations, electricity and energy sources, fair testing, recycling, and biodegradable products—developing both knowledge and practical thinking.

Geography takes students across Asia’s physical and cultural landscapes, while Economics introduces foundational concepts such as money, consumerism, and financial systems—equipping students with important life skills.

The curriculum also includes Art and Music Appreciation, video-guided art lessons, and PDHPE support through online workouts and health resources, promoting holistic development and creativity.

While we don’t include a Mathematics program, we provide guidance to help you select the right fit for your family.
