Throughout the high school years to date your child will have started to learn and develop the skills and techniques to study literature. This is a key aspect of English and thus two novel study guides are provided in your Year 9A course, one for each term. Sense and Sensibility is covered in Term One and includes the option for a film study too.
Our Novel Study Guides include a focus on the book itself, including the plot and characters, vocabulary, notes about the geography and setting, aspects of writing techniques. Weekly writing assignments are provided too. The intention is that your teenager is encouraged to be a good and close reader, and for them to appreciate how they can enter into the Great Conversation about books, offering their own views, opinions and insights.
